SAR

The Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Image Acquisition workflow allows you to source all-weather radar imagery for your projects.

The SAR imagery is ideal for the following purposes:

  • All-weather monitoring (day/night, through clouds)
  • Surface deformation detection
  • Soil moisture and flood mapping
  • Infrastructure monitoring

To acquire SAR imagery, do the following:

  1. Login to the gIQ platform.

  2. Click the Acquire module, and then click the Image Acquisition sub-module.

    How to access Image Acquisition

    The Image Acquisition dialog box is displayed.

  3. On the Image Acquisition dialog box, do the following:

    ParameterAction
    Start and End Date & TimeDefine the start and end date-time of the temporal window for image search
    Imagery TypeSelect the SAR tab
    Area of Interest (AOI)Define the Area of Interest (AOI) on the map for image acquisition using the following options:

    Draw: Manually draw AOI on the map
    AOI Library: Select an AOI from the AOI Library
    WKT: Paste a Well-Known Text (WKT) string to define the Area of Interest (AOI)
    Save as new AOIClick the Save as new AOI button to save the current AOI in the AOI library (optional)
    SubmitClick the Submit button to process the image acquisition request
